 Why Brugu Maharshi Kicked the Lord Vishnu



Have you ever wondered why a great sage like Brugu Maharshi kicked Lord Vishnu on the chest?


The Question among the Sages

Once, a group of sages and rishis gathered for a discussion. During their conversation, a serious question arose about the supreme god:

"Who is the supreme God?"

They are unable to find the answer, they decided to test the Trimurthlu, who find these tasks, they finalised brugu maharshi suite for finding the best.

Brugu Maharshi's journey started

Brugu Maharshi first travelled to Satyaloka.
Lord Brahma, filled with pride, and he listening music with his wife Saraswathi and runs the srusti. He failed to properly honour the sage. Feeling insulted. Brugu Maharshi, observing this behaviour, became angry. In his rage, he cursed Lord Brahma, saying:

"In the Future, no one will worship you"
        

After this issue, Brugu Maharshi left Brahmaloka. He was deeply disappointed.

Brugu Maharshi Visits Kailasa For Shiva

After leaving Brahmaloka, He travelled to Mount Kailasa to test Lord Shiva. At that time, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati were joyfully performing a divine dance. They are completely immersed in the rhythm.
So observed were they in their dance that thy didnot notice Brugu Maharshi arivl.
Seeing this, Brugu Maharshi felt deeply insulted. He believed that if Shiva were truly the supreme Being, he should remain ever aware,


Brugu Mahrshi shouted loudly to get shiva attention
But Brugu, feeling ignored and disrespected, the sage's anger intensified.

In his fury, Brugu Maharshi cursed Lord Shiva,
declaring;         


"In the Kaliyugam, people worship only through Stone idols."

Brugu Maharshi immediately left Mount Kailasa, convinced that lord shiva didnot meet his test.

Brugu Maharshi visited Vaikuntam.

In Vaikuntam, Brugu Maharshi saw Lord Vishnu resting in yoga nidra on Adi Shesha, with Goddess Lakshmi beside him.
Angered by this sight, the sage shouted:

"Why could not find me? You sleep without noticing my arrival."
                      


In a moment of arrogance, Brugu Maharshi kicked lord vishnu on the chest.

Lord Vishnu's Response

Lord Vishnu immediately woke up.
Instead of getting angry, he gently held the sage's foot and said
               



O Maharshi, did your foot get hurt? My chest is quite hard.

These words shocked Brugu Maharshi.
 At that moment, he realised that Lord Vishnu Alone possessed infinite patience and humility.is 

Goddess Lakshmi Leaves Vaikuntam

Since Goddess Lakshmi resides in Lord Vishnus Chest, the act was a grave insult to her.
Feeling deeply hurt, Goddess Lakshmi left Vaikuntam and descended to earth
. She chose the Tirumala hills as her abode.
  




To reunite with her and bless devotees, Lord Vishnu later incarnated as Lord Venkateswara.
